In preparing for a course, my mantra is “do more with less.” Or that is my teaching goal, I should say. So now I’m trying to adapt this to working on the house. My plans for this past week-end included: spackle plaster, clean walls and woodwork, paint ceiling fans, paint all the ceilings, start on the walls, rip up porch carpeting. That was the short list. I’ve now scaled back considerably and feel accomplished about starting on the ceiling fans. Pierre painted the dining room ceiling and it sure looks purty. Baby steps, baby steps.
My mom is on her way down for some painting days with me. I’m considering bagging the painting and heading to Home Depot to check out pedastal sinks. Shopping is a lot more fun than sanding.
